ABOUT THE CONFERENCE PROGRAMME SUMMARIES OF PRESENTATIONS
Josip Horvat lic. theol. and lic. can. iur.
Josip Horvat enrolled in the philosophy and theology study programme at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb in 2005. From the academic year 2007/2008, he continued with the philosophy and theology study programme at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, from which he graduated in 2010. He was ordained Presbyter of the Zagreb Archdiocese in 2011. As presbyter of the Zagreb Archdiocese, he has performed various functions in the Church. In the academic year 2018, he completed the post-graduate study programme of Canon Law at the Saint Pius X Faculty of Canon Law in Venice, and enrolled in a doctoral study programme at the same Faculty. In the academic year 2019, he completed at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb the post-graduate licentiate study programme, specialising in pastoral theology. In 2023, he was given the position of a research assistant in the area of Canon Law at the Canon Law Section of the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb. Regarding his professional activities, in 2018 he was appointed investigating judge at the Office for Administrative Action for the Clerical Class at the Interdiocesan Tribunal of First Instance in Zagreb. In 2019, he was appointed defender of the bond at the Interdiocesan Tribunal of First Instance in Zagreb. In 2019, he was appointed auditor who is not a judge at the Interdiocesan Tribunal of First Instance in Zagreb. He is a member of the Croatian Canon Law Society, a professional association from his area of scientific expertise, as well as of the National Office of the Croatian Episcopal Conference for the Protection of Minors and Adult Vulnerable Persons. He has presented at numerous scientific symposia at home and abroad.
