Tomislav Glavnik, lic. can. iur.

Presenting Social Activity of Institutions of the Catholic Church, and Their Contribution to the Social Community

Fra Tomislav Glavnik, a Conventual Franciscan friar, was born in Sisak in 1975. He graduated in the Catholic Theology from the Bavarian State University in Würzburg in 2000, and specialised in Canon Law at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome in 2010. He is the Head of the Croatian Caritas, the central pastoral and charitable institution of the Croatian Episcopal Conference. He has held the office of a parish priest and abbot of the monastery in his monastic province multiple times. He was a member of the Board (Secretary, Definitor and Vicar of the province) from 2002 until 2022. He initiated the construction of a chapel consecrated to Croatian saints and blessed at the Shepherds’ Field in Bethlehem. He had a monument to Croats placed at the Garden of Gethsemane as well as a monument to Saint Jerome and Saint Nikola Tavelić of Šibenik in Jerusalem. He is a licensed guide for the Holy Land.
