ABOUT THE CONFERENCE PROGRAMME SUMMARIES OF PRESENTATIONS
Prof. Ana Štambuk, PhD
Ana Štambuk was born in Bisko. She has completed a study programme of Religious Pedagogy and Pastoral Theology at the Catechetical Institute of the Faculty of Theology in Zagreb as well as the study of Social Work at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, where she acquired a doctoral degree in Social Work. She went on to acquire her Master’s degree in 1999 at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, in the field of Social Psychiatry. She has worked at the Study Centre of Social Work at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb since 1995. She is a full professors and head of the Social Gerontology Section, where she teaches the following courses: Social Gerontology, Palliative Care, Social Work with the Elderly, Social Work with the Homeland War Veterans, and Social Work with Persons with Dementia. Her scientific interests are aimed at the area of social gerontology and palliative care. Her main focus is the topic of attitudes toward the elderly, end-of-life matters, persons with dementia, carers for the elderly, and spirituality in the elderly. She has published numerous works in scientific journals and has participated in scientific research projects. She has undergone training in palliative care in Croatia and abroad and has presented at domestic and international conferences in the field of gerontology/geriatrics and palliative care.
