Application procedure & Mobility Information - in a Nutshell

HOW TO APPLY FOR EXCHANGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB
If the home university has an Inter-institutional agreement with the UNIZG for International Credit Mobility, interested students need to be nominated by their home university of exchange with the University of Zagreb (please contact your home university coordinator).
After the nomination, students will receive information about the application procedure from the UNIZG. The application is entirely done online during the application link accessible on the following link.

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS FOR EXCHANGE
•    Curriculum Vitae (English),
•    the Learning Agreement containing your planned course units at the University of Zagreb
•    Official Grade Transcript from home university (English),
•    Certificate of Enrolment from home university(English),
•    Copy of passport,
•    Proof of English level - B2 (intermediate) level according to the Common European Reference for Languages (all kinds of language certificates are accepted)

Students will be able to participate in courses/study programmes given in English (and/or Croatian).
Graduate & PhD students that intend to do research for their final thesis need to send a short thesis/research outline so a mentor at UNIZG can be assigned prior to the start of mobility.

Students are guaranteed accommodation in one of three student halls of residence if the apply for it. Housing application is a part of the online application for student exchange.

APPLICATION DEADLINES AT UNIZG:

  • 10 May for the 1st / winter semester
  • 10 November for the 2nd / summer semester

AREAS OF STUDY / COURSES
Students are allowed to enrol in study programmes / courses offered by UNIZG faculties / academies according to the Inter-institutional agreement with the partner HEI and respecting the specific requirements (like course pre-requisites, etc.).

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ERASMUS+EXCHANGE STUDENTS FROM COUNTRIES ASSOCIATED TO THE PROGRAMME

Travel costs

The financial support corresponds to EUR 800,00 per month. Students and recent graduates with fewer opportunities may receive a top-up amount to the individual support of their EU Erasmus+ grant with an amount of 250 EUR per month.

Students receive 70% of the payment for the entire period at the start of their exchange, within 2 weeks after signing the individual grant agreement, and 30% in the last month, after filling in the Erasmus+ mobility report. The full amount to be paid to the student will be set in the grant agreement and according to the dates / days spent on study exchange at UNIZG.

*Exchange students will be required to take out travel medical & accidence insurance to cover their stay in Croatia on their own. . The minimum coverage for the countries with visa regime in Croatia is 30.000EUR. For more information please visit the UNIZG website.

INCLUSION SUPPORT
A person with fewer opportunities is a potential participant whose personal, physical, mental or health-related conditions is such that his/her participation in the project / mobility action would not be possible without extra financial or other support.

In case of available funding the following student categories may apply for additional grant support: (250 eur/month):
•    Students of lower socioeconomic status
Description/proof of status: student is a recipient of the state social (financial) support
•    Students who have a refugee status, asylum seekers or migrants
Description/proof of status: decision granting asylum or subsidiary protection, like residence permit. It is also important that with the above-mentioned status prove their identity, and this is possible with following documents:passport for an asylum seeker, special passport for aliens,other identification document(s).
•    Students with inclusion support
Description/proof of status: Participants with physical, mental or health related conditions that require extra financial support to allow their participation in the mobility and for accompanying persons (including costs related to travel and subsistence, if justified and as long as it is not covered through budget categories "travel support" and "individual support" for these participants).

Real costs are financed - the request must be justified by the applicant and approved by the Croatian National Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes. Documents to be provided by student: family physician’s or specialist doctor health certificate (original is mandatory, not older than 6 months) and the decision of the competent state institution/organization with the indicated degree (percentage) and type of of person's impairment (copy/scan of the document is acceptable).
