University of Zagreb's Office for Students with Disabilities commences activities at new location

From 23rd January 2020 onward, University of Zagreb's Office for Students with Disabilities will be operating at a new location on the ground floor of the Student residence hall 'Stjepan Radić' building 12.

The Office for Students with Disabilities' new location is highly organised and designed to be even more accessible and open to all clients currently receiving any form of support or realizing rights through their status (adjusting class attendance and test-taking, peer support in an academic environment, transport accommodations, student assisted living, etc.). At the moment, the Office supports about 400 University of Zagreb students with disabilities.

Through a selection process overseen by the Student Council of the Academy of Fine Arts, Nikolina Žabčić, a junior at the undergraduate studies of Animation and New Media, was picked to paint part of the new facility.

With the new facility situated within the student residence hall, and through the Office for Students with Disabilities, the University of Zagreb aims to further its efforts to help the students in need of support of some kind, and aid them in their studies. The Office operates as part of University of Zagreb's Office for Study Programmes and Quality Assurance.

The Office for Students with Disabilities of the University of Zagreb has been working since 2007 to ensure equality of opportunity, and provide the necessary conditions for a successful and superlative study for all current and future students with disabilities.

The Office is intended for all students who, due to illness, injury or disorders have continuous, periodical or temporary difficulties in managing everyday academic activities (students with impaired sight or hearing; motor, chronic, and mental disorders; specific problems related to learning such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and ADHD; and other medical conditions and difficulties which could affect the course of study).
