On 18th April 2019, in the Aula Magna of the University of Zagreb, academician Ioan-Aurel Pop, the President of the Romanian Academy, gave a lecture titled Making Romania in the Europe of Nations, 1859 - 1918. Present at the lecture were the Rector of the University of Zagreb Professor Damir Boras, Ph. D., Professor Miloš Judaš, Ph.D., Vice-rector for Science, Inter-Institutional Cooperation and International Relations, Professor Lidija Kos-Stanišić, Ph.D., Rector’s Assistant for Internal Communication and University Media, and other members of the University of Zagreb.
The lecture covered topics ranging from the Romanian people and their language and religion, to toe formation and sovereignty of Romania through the ages.
After the lecture, academician Pop answered questions posed by the audience, most of whom were students of the Faculty of Teacher Education and professors of the University of Zagreb.
